The Wild Angels
A garage version of the Shangri-Las" should be an apt characterization
of this New York quartet, which recorded a bunch of demos in 1966 and
1967 (the later ones under the name of the Sassy Ones). Or, maybe, a
garage version of the Shangri-Las with a touch of the Shaggs: the girls
have trouble staying in tune on a number of tracks.
